WASHINGTON, D.C. — Street closures and emergency parking restrictions are in effect Sunday in downtown Washington for the National Race to End Women’s Cancer.
Pennsylvania Avenue NW from 9th Street to 14th Street and 13th Street NW from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue are posted as emergency no-parking zones from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. Both stretches are also closed to vehicle traffic during that period.
Additional closures from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. affect portions of 12th, 11th and 10th streets near Pennsylvania and Constitution avenues.
From 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m., closures extend along Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd Street to 9th Street NW and parts of 9th, 7th, 6th, 4th and 3rd streets, as well as Constitution Avenue NW, Independence Avenue SW, Maryland Avenue SW and nearby blocks.
Drivers should expect delays, follow posted emergency no-parking signs and consider alternate routes. Vehicles parked in restricted areas may be ticketed and towed. Closure times may change with conditions, and motorists should use caution because of increased pedestrian traffic.
