MPD Seeks Suspect in Half Street SW Cane Assault

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an assault with a dangerous weapon in Southwest Washington.

Police said the incident occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, September 17, inside a residence in the 1800 block of Half Street SW.

According to investigators, the suspect and victim were involved in a verbal argument before the suspect struck the victim with a wooden cane and fled. Police said a surveillance camera captured an image of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. MPD said a reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment. The case is listed under CCN 26132666.
