WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating a crash that killed an 18-year-old pedestrian early Monday on DC-295 in Southeast Washington.
Sixth District officers responded at approximately 3:23 a.m. July 13 to southbound DC-295, just beyond the East Capitol Street on-ramp. Officers found an adult woman critically injured in the roadway. D.C. Fire and EMS pronounced her dead at the scene, according to MPD.
MPD’s preliminary investigation found that the pedestrian had exited a vehicle stopped in the northbound lanes, crossed those lanes and a guardrail, and entered the southbound lanes, where a Ford Escape struck her. Police said the driver remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was identified as Camari Primrose, 18, of Silver Spring, Maryland. Anyone with information may call police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.
