MPD Announces Arrest in Armed Southeast D.C. Burglary

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of a Southeast Washington resident in connection with an armed apartment burglary that left one victim injured.

Police said three people armed with guns knocked on an apartment door in the 2800 block of Terrace Road SE at about 9:15 p.m. on April 6. After a resident opened the door, the suspects allegedly forced their way inside, assaulted one victim with a firearm and took property before leaving the scene.

D.C. Fire and EMS transported the injured victim to a hospital for treatment of injuries described as non-life-threatening.

MPD said members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located one of the suspects on July 6 while acting under a D.C. Superior Court search warrant. Police identified the arrested person as 26-year-old Larquette Brown of Southeast Washington and said Brown was charged with first-degree burglary while armed.

The case remains under investigation. MPD asks anyone with information to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411. The department says it offers rewards of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a violent crime committed in the District.
