WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying persons of interest in a Northwest shooting investigation, according to an MPD release issued Friday.
MPD said Third District officers responded at about 5:19 p.m. on June 15 to a reported shooting in the 2200 block of 13th Street NW.
When officers arrived, they found evidence of a shooting and property destroyed by gunfire, the department said. No injuries were reported.
According to MPD, investigators determined that a suspect brandished a firearm and fired toward the intersection of 13th Street and Florida Avenue NW. The suspect fled before officers arrived, and three persons of interest also fled with the suspect.
MPD said nearby security cameras captured the persons of interest. The case is listed under CCN 26082446.
Anyone who can identify the persons of interest or has information about the incident is asked to take no action, call police at (202) 727-9099, or text the department’s tip line at 50411. MPD said a reward of up to $10,000 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a violent crime in the District.
