WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is advising drivers to plan for parking restrictions and a street closure tied to the 2026 National STEM Festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 27, in the District.
According to MPD, emergency no-parking restrictions will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday on I Street between 18th Street and 19th Street NW.
The same block of I Street NW is also scheduled to close to vehicle traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday while the festival is underway.
Police said all listed street closures and times are subject to change based on prevailing or unexpected conditions. Vehicles parked in violation of posted emergency no-parking signs may be ticketed and towed.
Motorists traveling near the event could encounter delays and may want to consider alternate routes. MPD and the District Department of Transportation also reminded drivers to use caution in the area because increased pedestrian traffic is expected.
For timely traffic updates, MPD directed the public to its traffic account at x.com/DCPoliceTraffic.
