4 wounded and 3 dead after latest shooting in California

In the early hours of this morning, a shooting in the upscale neighborhood of Beverly Crest, California left three people dead and four others injured. The incident occurred outside a short-term rental property on the 2200 block of Beverly Crest Drive, just after 2:30 a.m. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the three people killed were in a vehicle, while the four who were injured were standing outside.

The LAPD received multiple 911 calls summoning them to the scene, where they found five victims. Three were pronounced dead on arrival, while two were injured. Two other victims had driven themselves to a medical center, where they were transported to a trauma care hospital by paramedics. The two injured people who remained at the scene were taken to UCLA Medical Center by paramedics. According to the LAPD, two of the injured people are in critical condition and two are in stable condition.

The police have not yet released information about the identities of the deceased or injured victims, and no information about a suspect or motive is being made available at this time. Additional occupants of the house are being interviewed, as are neighbors and other witnesses.

Beverly Crest is an upscale neighborhood in Los Angeles, California, located near Beverly Hills. This shooting marks the sixth mass shooting in California this year, with the most recent one being on January 21 in Monterey Park where 11 people were killed.

Representative Adam Schiff, who represents the area near Beverly Crest, took to Twitter to express his dismay at the string of violence and called for action to be taken.

“Terrible news of the fourth mass shooting in California in a week. We cannot live this way. Literally we cannot,” he wrote. “I will never accept such senseless, horrific violence in our society. We must act. Thinking and praying for the victims and their families.”

The LAPD has stated that they believe there is no danger to the public at this time, but are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the LAPD West Bureau Homicide at 213-382-9470.
