WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that killed a 20-year-old man on 18th Street in Southeast Washington.
Sixth District officers responded to the 1900 block of 18th Street SE at approximately 10:50 p.m. Friday, September 11, after a report of a shooting, according to MPD.
Officers found an adult man unconscious and not breathing with apparent gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS personnel responded and pronounced him dead at the scene after finding no signs consistent with life.
Police identified the victim as Javon Graves of Southeast Washington.
MPD asked anyone with information about the shooting to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a District homicide.
