WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy inside a Northwest Washington residence, the agency announced Monday.
Fourth District officers responded at approximately 10:14 p.m. Sunday to a home in the 3500 block of 10th Street NW. Police said they found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a hospital, where he died after lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. MPD identified him as Tavon Livingston of Northeast Washington.
No arrest or suspect description was announced in the release. Police asked anyone with information not to take action, but to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. MPD said it offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a District homicide.
The investigation is listed under case number 26104602.
