WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a series of thefts from parked vehicles in Northeast Washington.
First District officers responded at approximately 1:41 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, to the 600 block of 7th Street NE after receiving a report involving multiple vehicles, according to an MPD release issued Sunday.
Police said the suspect broke the windows of three parked vehicles and took property from two of them before leaving the area. MPD said the suspect and a vehicle connected to the incident were captured on camera.
Authorities advised anyone who recognizes the suspect or vehicle not to take action. Tips can be provided by calling police at 202-727-9099 or texting the department’s tip line at 50411. MPD said information leading to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
