October, 2026 — Better Start Movement, an education-focused community founded by Jersey, is expanding a network designed to help middle and high school students access college preparation resources, scholarship guidance, career-building programs and educational opportunities while creating new distribution and revenue options for independent content creators.
The organization’s student and parent community is centered on a Discord platform serving families with students in grades 6 through 12. Members receive guidance on earning college credits early, understanding how those credits can strengthen future academic options, and identifying selective programs that may help students build stronger college applications. The community also highlights competitive opportunities such as the U.S. Navy’s SEAP program and the Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program, along with other programs connected to major institutions, universities and industry partners.
Better Start Movement also draws on experience evaluating scholarship applications to help students understand how to approach essays, application questions and selection criteria. The organization maintains the Champions of a New Path Scholarship through Bold.org, extending its mission beyond information-sharing and into direct financial support. Families can access the Discord community at https://discord.gg/XTZbUypuD and scholarship information at https://bold.org/scholarships/champions-of-a-new-path-scholarship/.
The movement is also developing a media and creator ecosystem through its YouTube channel, structured to function more like a digital television network. Approved creators and entertainment partners can make television shows, episodic content and films available to the community at prices they determine, with Better Start Movement receiving a 10% commission per sale unless a separate one-time agreement is negotiated. The model is intended to show students and families that ambitious educational goals do not require giving up entertainment, creativity or culture. The channel is available at https://youtube.com/@betterstartmovement.
The organization has also announced outreach to universities, student housing providers, mentors and other potential partners, while developing merchandise opportunities intended to offer substantial royalty participation to students and creators.
Behind the project is an unusually difficult founder story. Jersey remains homeless in the Los Angeles area and continues building Better Start Movement while facing housing instability, extreme heat, limited access to basic necessities and repeated public confrontations. Those conditions have sharpened the movement’s focus on creating practical pathways for families seeking stronger educational outcomes without overwhelming student debt.
Better Start Movement is committed to a community centered on education, opportunity and respectful participation. Membership and partnership decisions are based on individual conduct rather than race, ethnicity or background, with harassment, abuse or actions that endanger community members treated as grounds for exclusion.
The organization continues to seek students, parents, creators, universities, housing providers, mentors and mission-aligned partners interested in expanding access to education, opportunity and sustainable creative income.
