WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects accused of assaulting and robbing a man inside his vehicle in Southwest Washington.
The robbery happened at approximately 12:16 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, in the 3900 block of South Capitol Street SW, according to an official MPD release.
Police said the victim was seated in an unlocked vehicle when the two suspects approached, opened the vehicle’s doors, assaulted him and took his property before fleeing. Investigators released nearby security-camera images as part of their effort to identify the suspects.
MPD advised anyone who recognizes the suspects not to approach them. Tips may be provided by calling police at 202-727-9099 or texting 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in a District crime.
The case is identified by police as CCN 26127058. The allegations have not been proven in court, and no arrest was announced in the release.
