MPD Seeks Suspect in U Street NE Sexual Abuse Case

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department investigators are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a misdemeanor sexual abuse reported on U Street NE.

Police said the incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, in the unit block of U Street NE. According to MPD, the suspect made unwanted sexual contact with a victim and then fled.

MPD said a nearby security camera captured the suspect. The department advised anyone who recognizes the person or has information about the incident not to take action, but to contact police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411.

Police said a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in a District crime. The case is listed under CCN 26119522.
