WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a robbery and nonfatal shooting that occurred last month in Northwest Washington.
Third District officers responded at approximately 4:34 a.m. on Sunday, July 26, to the 1600 block of 12th Street NW after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers found an adult man with apparent gunshot wounds, according to MPD.
D.C. Fire and EMS transported the victim to a local hospital with injuries police described as non-life-threatening.
Investigators said the suspect offered the victim transportation. After the victim accompanied the suspect to a vehicle, the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm, demanded the victim’s property, took his belongings and shot him before fleeing.
MPD released security-camera images and video of the suspect. Anyone who can identify the person or has information about the incident is asked not to take action, but to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. The department said a reward of up to $10,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest and indictment. The case number is 26104202.
