WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department announced the arrest of a 22-year-old man accused of stalking and assaulting a teenage girl in the District.
Police said the victim reported that Daniel Alexi Castillo attended an event where she was working in Northeast Washington on June 5. After the event, investigators said, he insisted on walking her home and entering his number into her phone.
According to MPD, Castillo later appeared uninvited at the victim’s home and at other locations around the District between 4 p.m. and 7:56 p.m. Police said he made unwanted contact with her multiple times and repeatedly called and texted her against her wishes.
Castillo, of Northeast Washington, was arrested on Aug. 7 under a D.C. Superior Court warrant and charged with felony stalking and simple assault, MPD said. The allegations are accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
