MPD Seeks Suspect in Georgia Avenue Convenience Store Robbery

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a robbery at a Georgia Avenue convenience store in Northwest Washington.

Fourth District officers responded to the establishment in the 4000 block of Georgia Avenue NW at approximately 6:47 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, according to an MPD release issued Wednesday.

Police said the suspect entered the store, took money from the cash register and fled with U.S. currency and other store property. A nearby surveillance camera captured an image of the person sought in the investigation.

MPD advised anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the incident not to take action. Tips can be provided by calling police at 202-727-9099 or texting the department’s tip line at 50411.

The department said it currently offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of a person responsible for a crime committed in the District. The case reference is CCN 26096297.
