This year, the District will award 75 scholarships of $2,500 each to qualifying young adults.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be District residents between the ages of 18 and 24.
  • Program Participation: Candidates must be registered participants in the current 2026 MBSYEP session.
  • Educational Attainment: Applicants must have successfully attained a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Future Enrollment: Recipients must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution, occupational skills training program, or active military service.

Funding for the scholarships is administered by the Department of Employment Services (DOES). Interested young adults can submit their applications online and upload required documentation directly through the MBSYEP portal at summerjobs.dc.gov/page/scholarships before the 5:00 p.m. deadline.
