WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department announced an arrest Thursday after a robbery in Northwest Washington.
Fourth District officers responded at about 6:59 a.m. June 18 to a robbery report at Kennedy Street and Georgia Avenue NW, according to MPD. Investigators said the suspect approached a victim in the 900 block of Kennedy Street NW, demanded money, assaulted the victim when she did not comply, took her property, and fled on foot.
Officers arrived quickly, found the suspect in the immediate area, and made an arrest without incident. MPD said the victim was not injured and her property was recovered.
MPD identified the arrested suspect as 30-year-old Erick Jonathan Sabillon-Amaya of Northwest D.C. He was charged with robbery in case CCN 26083756.
