WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police say they have arrested a Northeast Washington man in connection with an occupied-home burglary reported earlier this year on H Street NE.
According to MPD, the burglary happened at about 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, in the 600 block of H Street NE. Police said the suspect entered an occupied residence, took property, and fled the scene.
MPD said 58-year-old Alexis Jones, of Northeast, D.C., was arrested Sunday, June 14, pursuant to a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant. He was charged with Burglary One.
The department listed the case under CCN 26035120. MPD did not announce additional suspects in the release, and court proceedings will determine the outcome of the charge.
The arrest adds to a run of local public-safety updates from District officials as police continue asking residents and businesses to report suspicious activity and secure homes, storefronts, and shared-entry buildings.
