WASHINGTON, D.C. — K Street NW between 7th and 9th streets is closed to vehicle traffic for the 2026 DC State Fair, with the restriction scheduled to remain in effect until early Monday morning, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
MPD said the same section of K Street is posted as an emergency no-parking zone from 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, through 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7. The agency warned that vehicles left in violation of the temporary signs may be ticketed and towed.
The fair is taking place Sunday in the District. Drivers traveling near the event should expect possible delays, consider alternate routes and follow directions from officers and posted signs, police said.
MPD and the District Department of Transportation also urged motorists to use caution because of increased pedestrian traffic. Officials noted that closure locations and times may change in response to conditions.
