MPD Announces All-Day Street Closures Around GW University Event

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Drivers in Foggy Bottom should expect street closures and parking restrictions around George Washington University on Saturday as the university holds its First Night x Org Fair.

The Metropolitan Police Department said H Street NW will be closed between 20th and 22nd streets from 8 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. The affected stretch will also be posted as an emergency no-parking zone.

During the same period, 21st Street NW will be closed between I and G streets and posted for emergency no parking. Vehicles left in violation of the restrictions may be ticketed and towed, according to MPD.

Police advised motorists to consider alternate routes and use caution because increased pedestrian traffic is expected near the event. The agency said closure times may change depending on conditions.

Current traffic updates are available through DC Police Traffic. Details are in the official MPD traffic advisory.
