WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department officers have arrested a second suspect in connection with a July 21 exchange of gunfire on Euclid Street NW, according to an official MPD release.
Police said Third District officers responded at about 1:20 p.m. to the 1700 block of Euclid Street NW. Officers found evidence of gunfire but no injured victim. One suspect was arrested during the initial canvass, two firearms were recovered, and investigators determined that the shooting caused property damage.
MPD said officers familiar with the investigation located 19-year-old Emmanuel Gerald Grey of Southeast Washington in the area on Aug. 6 and arrested him without incident. Police reported recovering another firearm. Grey was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a pistol without a license, possession of an unregistered firearm and ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.
The earlier suspect, 19-year-old Damari Bryant of Northeast Washington, faces charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, felony destruction of property, firearms offenses, receiving stolen property and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
