WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Tuesday in Northwest Washington.
Third District officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 2600 block of 15th Street NW at approximately 4:25 a.m. on August 4, according to MPD.
Officers found an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS personnel responded and pronounced him dead after finding no signs consistent with life, police said.
MPD identified the victim as 23-year-old Xavier Fogle of Northwest Washington. The department listed the case under CCN 26108826.
The investigation remains active. Police asked anyone with information not to take action but to call 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. MPD said it offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a District homicide.
