WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested two teenagers after an attempted robbery Thursday evening near 13th and U streets NW, the agency announced Friday.
Police said Third District officers responded to the intersection at approximately 8 p.m. after two suspects approached a victim and demanded his wallet. One of the suspects was armed with a broom handle, according to MPD.
The victim ran from the suspects, and no property was taken. Officers canvassed the area, located both suspects and arrested them without incident, police said.
A 16-year-old from Northwest Washington and a 14-year-old from Northeast Washington were each charged with attempted robbery. MPD identified the case by CCN 26102920.
