MPD Announces Juvenile Arrest in Columbia Heights Mall Burglary

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Metropolitan Police Department officials say a juvenile suspect has been arrested in connection with a June burglary at a business in the 3100 block of 14th Street NW.

According to an MPD release, multiple suspects entered the closed business at approximately 12:12 a.m. on June 20, damaged property inside and fled the scene.

Police said a 12-year-old Northwest D.C. girl turned herself in at a local police station on July 15. She was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary. A charge is an allegation, and the juvenile is presumed innocent unless adjudicated responsible.

Investigators continue to seek four additional suspects captured by security cameras. MPD asks anyone who recognizes them or has information about the incident to call police at (202) 727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411. The case is identified as CCN 26084954.
