WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public to help identify a suspect in a burglary at a Southeast Washington business.
Police said the burglary occurred at about 9 a.m. Thursday, August 27, in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE. According to MPD, the suspect forced entry through the locked rear door of a closed commercial business, took property and fled.
MPD said nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect. Police have not announced an arrest in the case, which is listed under CCN 2612121.
Anyone who can identify the person or has information about the incident is asked not to take action, but to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. MPD said a reward of up to $1,000 may be offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in a crime committed in the District.
