WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a Northeast Washington shooting that left 21-year-old Cortes Lilly dead and three other men wounded.
Sixth District officers responded to the 6200 block of Dix Street NE at approximately 1:42 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, after receiving a report of a shooting, according to an official MPD release.
Officers found four adult men suffering from gunshot wounds. One was unconscious and not breathing, while the other three were conscious and breathing, police said.
D.C. Fire and EMS took three of the victims to a hospital by ambulance, and the fourth was airlifted for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, Lilly, a Northeast D.C. resident, died at the hospital, according to MPD.
Police had not announced an arrest or released information about a suspect in the official notice published Saturday.
MPD asked anyone with information not to take action but to call police at 202-727-9099 or text a tip to 50411. The department said it offers a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a District homicide.
