MPD Arrests Suspect in Edgewood Neighborhood Shooting

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a May shooting in the Edgewood neighborhood of Northeast Washington.

Fifth District officers responded to the 600 block of Edgewood Street NE at about 2:26 p.m. on May 11 after receiving a report of gunfire, according to MPD. Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound that police described as non-life-threatening.

DC Fire and EMS personnel transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.

MPD said Lloyd Wright, of Northwest Washington, was arrested on Aug. 5 under a D.C. Superior Court warrant. He was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon involving a gun.

The department identified the case number as CCN 26063997.
